WENATCHEE — The Community Foundation of North Central Washington will distribute more than $72,800 in grants.

The grants are made twice a year. Established in 1986, the Community Foundation manages more than $40 million and has to date awarded more than $12 million in local grants and scholarships.

Here’s a list of the fall recipients:

Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation: $5,000 for Five Badges for Baseball youth clinics.

Cascade School District: $5,000 to continue its after school program.

Cascadia Conservation District: $3,500 for expansion of its native planting workshop.

Chelan Valley Independent School: $2,000 for a school musical.

Community Farm Connection: $3,500 for community outreach.

Compassionate Friends: $2,500 for its lending library.

Forest Ridge Wildfire Coalition: $1,600 for fire prevention education outreach and wood chipper rental.

Habitat for Humanity-Greater Wenatchee: $5,000 for development costs for a 6-lot subdivision.

Icicle Arts: $3,000 for a free in-school Artist Outreach Program in Cascade and Cashmere school districts.

Lake Chelan Lutheran Church: $2,500 for its welcome home program for veterans and family members.

Lilac Services for the Blind: $5,000 for equipment, materials and supplies for its new satellite office in Wenatchee.

Literacy Council: $2,270 for a Website upgrade.

Manger Mall: $3,000 for toys and gifts for parents experiencing financial struggles during the holidays.

Mountain Sprouts Children’s Community: $2,000 for nature-focused playground equipment.

Okanogan County Animal Foster Care Association: $3,500 for building repairs.

Omak School District: $2,710 to continue its online reading program.

Orchard Middle School: $3,736 for band instruments.

Oroville Senior Citizens: $5,000 to replace a commercial range hood.

Upper Valley Cooperative Preschool: $2,000 for technology, curriculum, classroom and outdoor equipment.

Westside High School: $5,000 for a pilot reading tutorial program.

YMCA: $5,000 to staff its Open Door Membership Program.
