Be a Funds Distribution panel volunteer!  Training is Tuesday, January 24th at 6:00 PM, Chelan County PUD

The Funds Distribution panel volunteers provide leadership in carrying out the Board’s vision of building a caring community by investing the resources entrusted to the United Way in agencies and programs that demonstrate results in meeting the objectives of the community’ health and human service agenda.

A Funds Distribution panel volunteer performs site visits at United Way Partner Agencies with other community volunteers. The site visit allows volunteers the opportunity to visit with the agencies and get to know their work, ask questions regarding the agency and program operations and take a site tour, if desired, in order to determine a fair funding level for the program(s) being evaluated.

This is how it is supposed to be. Selflessness, volunteerism, people organizing to help others is sustainable. Enthusiasm for good deeds does not wane or gently fade until it disappears, as it often does in some other place. It doesn’t happen here.

 

 

So why is the fourth Saturday in October so important in North Central Washington? Why does Make a Difference Day, the national day of doing good, grab our attention and hold it so strongly? Why, year after year for more than two decades, have so many people chosen this day to come out to help their neighbors, to simply make a difference?

When you think about the challenges facing our communities here in Chelan-Douglas Counties what concerns you the most? What are you passionate about?

United Way of Chelan-Douglas Counties, like many United Way organizations across the nation, is working to identify and address the community’s most pressing concerns. A new emphasis on Community Impact is driving us to find unique and comprehensive community-wide ways to create long-lasting positive changes that address the underlying cause of community problems.
