Volunteer members of the Board represent the community served. Collectively they are legally responsible for the corporation, including financial and program accountability. They define and implement the mission, vision and values of the United Way based on their understanding of the assets, needs and goals of the UWCDC area and its residents.

Provides leadership in carrying out the Board’s vision of building a caring community by investing the resources entrusted to the United Way in agencies and programs that demonstrate results in meeting the objectives of the community’ health and human service agenda.

Provides leadership in carrying out the Board’s vision of building a caring community by ensuring the United Way is fiscally accountable and fulfills all legal and regulatory requirements.

Provides leadership in carrying out the Board’s vision of building a caring community by working with current or potential member agencies that demonstrate results in meeting the objectives of the community’s health and human service agenda. The committee also considers emerging need requests. 

Provides recommendations to Board for approval of new members to fill official volunteer position vacancies.

Development of community support and commitment for United Way of Chelan and Douglas Counties area through a systematic communications program that both speaks to and listens to the community in addition to broadening the United Way’s presence and image from a fundraiser to a community impact agent.

Operates to increase the number of people who are aware of the benefits of making a planned gift in general and who are encouraged to make a planned gift to the United Way of Chelan and Douglas Counties to build the endowment fund.

Emergency Food & Shelter Local Board
