Students who volunteer 145 hours or more of service in a year can earn a school varsity letter, the same as those earned by athletes and musicians. Applicants must meet the following basic qualifications:
- Be a student in grades 9-12, attending Wenatchee, Cashmere, East Wenatchee or Waterville High Schools. Home-schooled students affiliated with a school district are also eligible to apply.
- Complete at least 145 hours of community service between April 1, 2010 to March 31, 2011. If you have already completed service within those dates YOU CAN COUNT IT as long as you can document it accurately and you provide your supervisor's contact information.
- At least 50 of your 145 (or more) hours MUST be in a non-school related activity unaffiliated with your high school (i.e., on your own, church group, Boy Scouts, etc)
- You must have at least one school-related volunteer activity (i.e., Key Club, peer tutoring, campus clean-up, etc).
- You must submit your Community Service Verification forms for each service opportunity either with the application or before, at specified quarterly form submission dates. If you do multiple activities with one supervisor, only ONE form is required.
- Your application must be RECEIVED by April 1st.
Deadline for application is April 1, 2012. Application must be received April 1, 2012 to be accepted.

There are no fees associated with earning your Varsity Letter in Community Service. The only thing it costs you is your time to record your hours as you do your service in the community. Remember, this documentation will come in handy when you start applying for scholarships, jobs and college!
