| CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) speak up for abused children. They are appointed by a judge to look into a neglected or abused child’s world. They work as trained child advocates to investigate a child’s history, facilitate communication between concerned adults, advocate on behalf of that child and ultimately make recommendations – to the court – in that child’s best interest. Volunteer CASAs work to improve children’s lives. The local CASA program began in 1994 and has more than 70 volunteers. |
